“I believe that the astonishingly consistent and nuanced reality of the planetary correlations with the archetypal dynamics of human life is one of the most compelling intimations we have that we live in a meaning-laden and purposeful universe.”
— Richard Tarnas

I do not believe in a black-and-white, fated determination, and find this quote by Enid Newberg apt,

“Just like a weather forecast may predict a chance of rain in your area, that does not mean you are ‘fated’ to get wet. How you respond to the weather reports makes all the difference to the outcome.”

I study and work from a traditional, Hellenistic perspective, while thoughtfully including modern concepts and interpretations. As with any other counseling or consultation service, discussions between astrologer and client are private and confidential.

I look forward to being your astrologer!

Maris Holland is a professional astrologer whose practice is rooted in the Hellenistic tradition. Her work explores the symbolic language of the heavens through the techniques and philosophies of ancient astrology, with particular interests in archetypal symbolism, ancient texts, and the mystery cults of ancient Greece. She approaches the natal chart as a means of understanding temperament, fate, and the recurring patterns that shape human experience.

Maris holds a certification in Natal Fundamentals from Kepler College and studied under Mychal A. Bryan of Oraculos School of Astrology. Her studies are informed by the surviving literature of the ancient astrological tradition and a broader interest in the religious, philosophical, and symbolic worlds from which it emerged. Through this work, she seeks to deepen her understanding of astrology as both a technical discipline and a rich symbolic tradition.

She is an active member of the National Council of Geocosmic Research and co-hosts a monthly astrological book club via Zoom. Follow along on Instagram at @jupiterrisingbookclub.
